A large emergency services presence was at the scene
Emergency services were called to Brimstage Road, Brimstage at around 9.40am on Sunday, March 17. It followed reports a blue Mercedes had crashed into a "side barrier".
An air ambulance also landed. Brimstage Road and Brimstage Lane were closed off by police . A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue confirmed the driver of the car was removed on a "long board by crews".
