Oak Park police are investigating a shooting that killed Dennis Johnson of Chicago at 14 Chicago Avenue Tuesday, Dec. 27 after 8 p.m.
Oak Park police are investigating a shooting Tuesday evening near the town’s eastern border that killed a Chicago man, according to village officials. Police say their preliminary investigation shows the shooting was targeted and they do not believe there is a threat to the public.
Police responded to a call of shots fired at 14 Chicago Avenue in Oak Park at 8:38 p.m. and found the victim, Dennis Johnson of Chicago, at the rear of the location with multiple gunshot wounds, according to a village news release. A Chicago Fire Department ambulance took Johnson to receive medical attention, but according to the news release, he died.
