A 31-year-old man has died in hospital following an alleged assault in Moe last week.

Police said a group of men allegedly confronted and seriously assaulted the 31-year-old man they believed was acting suspiciously outside a Mitchells Road home at about 5.30am on January 5.Three men have been charged over the incident.

A 41-year-old Moe man and a 19-year-old Orbost man have been charged with intentionally cause serious injury and intentionally cause serious injury in circumstances of gross violence.All three will appear before court at a later date.
