Prominent Aboriginal leader Uncle Max Harrison has died in a Sydney Covid ward, two weeks after speaking at an anti-vaccination mandate rally.

Uncle Max Dulumunmun Harrison, a prominent Aboriginal elder, had died in the Covid-19 ward of a Sydney hospital.

“He lived through the ‘sorry days’ and ‘genocide’ and wanted to avert another for his brothers and sisters, and for future generations,” Mr O’Neill said. “He was a very humble person who gave so much to others. He was very family-oriented and leaves behind eight generations of family bloodlines,” she said.

On Sunday, NSW Health confirmed it had been notified of two new Covid-19 deaths, a man in his 70s from Sydney’s inner west who died at Concord Hospital and a man in his 80s from southeastern Sydney who died at Sutherland Hospital.Thousands of people attended the Millions March in Hyde Park Sydney. Footage he shared on his Twitter account showed speakers and musicians taking to a stage to speak about vaccine mandates and play music in front of a large crowd.
