Students have been unknowingly filmed in the toilets of the University of Queensland, allegedly by a man who has been arrested at Brisbane airport. The 24-year-old man is facing 155 charges of observations or recordings in breach of privacy over allegations stemming from incidents at UQ’s premier campus in St Lucia, as well as the southern suburb of Sunnybank, in Brisbane . He also faces 10 charges of entering a premises with the intention of offending.

Students at the St Lucia campus expressed shock and disgust at the allegations on Thursday. “Quite unsettling for a lot of young women, especially just on this campus and in general,” one person told 7NEWS. Another said: “It’s disgusting. I would feel so unsafe if I was in a bathroom with someone filming me.” In a statement, UQ said the accused man would not be allowed on the campus in future.
