The 28-year-old was allegedly shoved during an altercation between two groups near the Esplanade in Cairns about 6.30pm on Thursday.
Officers later arrested a 35-year-old man who was later charged with one count of assault occassioning bodily harm. A business in northwest Melbourne has been set alight after a car smashed into it. Police believe unknown offenders drove a vehicle into the property before engulfing it in fire. Two teenage boys will front court accused of an allegedly string of attempted arson attacks and tresspassings.
Police were first called to a vacant property on Alexandra St in Hunters Hill, North Sydney, after a small fire was lit near the front door about 3.20am on June 21. An unknown person was seen walking around the property just prior to the fire which firefighters were able to extinguish. The car hadn’t been set alight and officers established a secondary crime scene on nearby Brown St where two empty jerry cans were located.
Another unknown person was spotted walking anound a property on Alexandra St about 10.50am on July 5 but left before officers arrived. Two teenage boyy, aged 15 and 17, were arrested on Wednesday following further reports of a trespassing onon Alexandra St. They have both been charged with enter enclosed lands with intent to commit indictable offence and attempted destroy or damage property by fire.
A man has died and another seriously injured in a collision involving an e-scooter and electric skateboard. A 39-year-old man riding the e-scooter tragically died at the scene. Another man riding the electric skateboard, aged 30, suffered head and facial injuries and was rushed to hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition. A motorcyclist has been accused of hitting and killing an elderly man in Sydney ‘s CBD.
He was rushed to hospital in a critical condition and died the following day. The rider, a 20-year-old man, suffered a dislocated shoulder and was also taken to hospital for treatment and mandatory testing. A 19-year-old motorcyclist has died in a crash with a ute. He was riding along Macleay Valley Way in Kempsey, NSW North Coast, where it crashed with a Nissan ute about 5.30pm on Wednesday.
The ute driver, a 21-year-old man, was uninjured in the incident but taken to hospital for mandatory testing. Three teenagers have been charged with alleged car theft amid investigations into an a string of arson attacks on Melbourne tobacco stores. The car was allegedly stolen in Collingwood on June 19, 11 days before a firebombing of a business on Lower Dandenong Rd in Mentone.
Police are probing whether the vehicle was used during the arson attack or others across the city. Detectives executed search warrants at three properties on Tuesday morning, leading to the arrest of a 17-year-old boy from Broadmeadows and two boys from Hume, aged 15 and 17. A man has been found dead outside a partially alight home in Western Sydney.
