Troy Maskell hit 73-year-old John Bourke with a bottle of sports drink before kicking him to the ground
A man who struck a country postmaster on the head with a bottle during a random attack in northernJohn Bourke, 73, lived alone at the back of the Strathmerton post office in northern Victoria and would often pop down to a local service station to chat to the attendant for company in the evenings.
A jury returned a guilty verdict against the 44-year-old Maskell on Monday after a trial in the Victorian supreme court. The 10-year-old daughter replied that she was good before her mother jumped in with the wrongful accusation, followed by aggression and abuse.
