Police are investigating the alleged stabbing of a 25-year-old man who was found dead near a caravan park in the coastal Queensland town of Mackay. 9News

Detective Inspector Tom Armitt from Queensland Police said officers received a 3am call from a 33-year-old man who told them he had stabbed another man at The Park Mackay caravan park in Paget.

Inspector Armitt said the man greeted police at the caravan park, before taking them to where he allegedly stabbed the 25-year old."Police located a deceased male person on the south side of the Bruce Highway, approximately 700 metres away from the first crime scene," Inspector Armitt said. Police said the victim, who is believed to live in Mackay, was stabbed in the neck, face and stomach.
