The accused made no plea when he appeared at Airdrie Sheriff Court.
Emergency crews were called a property on the town's Braxfield Terrace after receiving reports of an incident at around 10pm on Wednesday, October 4.
Stephen Kelly, 27, was later arrested in connection with his death. The accused appeared at Airdrie Sheriff Court today charged with murder.He is due to make another appearance in the dock within the next eight days.
