A man in his 50s from a remote community in East Arnhem has become the 28th person to die with COVID-19 in the Northern Territory.

A man in his 50s from a remote community in East Arnhem has become the 28th person in the Northern Territory to die with COVID-19.There were 386 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the NT in the 24 hours to 8pm on Friday, down from 660 cases in the previous reporting period.There were 224 cases recorded in the Top End region, 57 in Central Australia, 12 in East Arnhem, 54 in the Big Rivers region and six in the Barkly region. Thirty-three are under investigation.

NT Health said there were still 48 people with COVID-19 in hospitals across the NT, the same as the number of patients on Thursday and Friday.The number of active cases in the NT is 3,478, according to NT government figures.WatchWhat you need to know about coronavirus:
