A man who barricaded himself inside a Spenard neighborhood residence and shot at police over the New Year's weekend is now facing up to 115 years in jail.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A man was taken into custody following a prolonged investigation at a west Spenard residence on Friday afternoon and evening.that 37-year-old Jessie Skinner has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of third-degree assault, fourth-degree misconduct involving a weapon and reckless endangerment.
If convicted, Skinner faces up to 115 years total, including a maximum of 99 years for the attempted murder charges. Skinner’s bail was set at $50,000, according to the department, plus conditions of release that include a court-approved third party custodian and electronic monitoring. Just after 3:30 p.m., police alerted the public to be aware of a large police presence on West 29th Place near the intersection of Arctic and Benson boulevards.
