A Queensland man has been jailed for six years for burying his friend’s body in a shallow bush grave in remote WA, before assuming his identify.

Robert Scanlon initially denied knowing anything about what happened to Dean White, who was reported missing in August 2017.Robert Scanlon initially denied knowing anything about what happened to Dean White. It wasn’t until police revealed incriminating evidence linking the 45-year-old to his death that Scanlon admitted to burying him in a shallow bush grave.He'd been on the run from police in Queensland when he met Mr White in the Goldfields a year earlier.The judge described the case as "the most serious crime of its type imaginable".

They drove to a campsite in Quairading, 160kms out of Perth, where he claimed the 55-year-old met his "accidental" death, by falling off the roof of his four wheel drive and hitting his head.Related Articles
