Describing the incident as 'extremely nasty' and one which 'shocked the complainant to her core', the Judge spoke of the impact her former partner's actions have had on her
A 25-year old man who carried out an "extremely nasty" sexual assault on his girlfriend after she passed out in their bathroom was jailed for 11 months today.
The defendant admitted a charge of sexual assault by penetration which he committed in August 2020 in the Belfast home he and his partner shared. On August 2, 2020, she told him she wanted to use the bathroom but was feeling dizzy, so he went with her. The PSNI were informed and following his arrest, the Belfast man said that prior to her going to the bathroom his girlfriend has been sexually active with him and that he was aroused.
He said: "The court can only hope that the professional assistance she has had and will have, together with the sentencing of the defendant, will assist her and her family to have some closure in due course."
