Aria JonesOne man was killed and a woman was wounded during an exchange of gunfire late Friday in West Dallas, police said.
Officers were called about 11:40 p.m. to the 3400 block of North Winnetka Avenue, near Benito Juárez Park, where a shooting had been reported. A man at that location told officers that he had shot a man who was firing a gun and pointed the weapon at him. That man, who was struck in the shoulder, was taken to a hospital and died, police said. His name was not released.
A woman with the man who was shot was grazed on the arm by a stray bullet, police said. She was treated at a hospital and released. Dallas police said they are continuing to investigate and did not provide any additional information, including whether any arrests had been made.
