As the detectives left, Woods drove by, made eye contact with them, then drove off. Officers followed him onto Interstate 30 but before they could make a traffic stop, Woods crashed into a guardrail while exiting on First Avenue, according to the affidavit. Woods’ car smelled strongly of bleach, police said.
After Woods was evaluated at a hospital, he spoke with detectives at police headquarters and initially denied having a woman in his room, the affidavit says. He told police he was cleaning with bleach because he was moving to a different room.
