A man punched a stranger in the face after he was asked to move away.

Mr Madden, who had been on a night out in the city centre, asked Irvine to move away, but he was punched in the face.He was taken to Helen Street police office and held in custody.

In a previous incident, on the morning of January 13, 2022, cops on patrol stopped Irvine and another man on Shettleston Road. At Glasgow Sheriff Court last week, the prosecutor said: “The officers searched the accused. During this search, he pushed an officer’s hand away and began to run away from him.Irvine, of Shettleston, was found hiding under a caravan a short time later. He was searched but nothing was found. He was charged with running away from officers in order to avoid them being able to seize items they saw in his possession.

Sheriff Mark McGuire said: “I notice his minimal record and that he’s in employment. Given the circumstances, I'm minded to impose supervision and unpaid work.”“This order is a direct alternative to custody. If you so much put a toe out of line you’ll be back in custody.” He was ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and be under social work supervision for one year.
