Police, coastguard, ambulance and fire crews were called to the area close to the Open Eye Gallery at 12.05pm. A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We can confirm we were called about a concern for safety of a man who had entered the water at Canning Dock earlier today, Saturday, September 23. "Emergency services attended at around 12.05pm and the male was helped from the water and brought to safety.
