A 25-year-old man was sentenced to more than two decades in prison for beating a jogger on a popular Aurora park trail three years ago.
A 25-year-old man was sentenced to more than two decades in prison forAuthorities say Julio Cesar Gonzalez on July 11, 2020, struck a woman who was jogging on the High Line Canal Trail multiple times with a board. He received 20 years for first-degree assault and five years for second-degree assault, the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced in a Monday news release.
The woman, who suffered “substantial bodily injuries” to her hands and head, was taken to a hospital and ultimately survived.
