Police explained they received reports of someone being shot near 300 West shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday and located a man with a gunshot wound upon arrival.Lt. Brandon Shearer with the Salt Lake City Police Department said that officers who talked to witnesses were led to believe the incident stemmed from road rage.
“There were a couple of witnesses that did see an incident occur at the intersection of 2100 South 300 West,” Shearer explained. “It was those witnesses’ information that leads us to believe it was a road rage incident.” Shearer urged drivers to be aware of others’ behaviors as they’re on the roads and avoid a confrontation if possible.
“Call 911 and avoid a confrontation,” Shearer encouraged. “I’d say it’s always a good idea to avoid a confrontation, take down any information you can and call 911 immediately.”As the search for a suspect is underway, police asked that those with any information related to the suspect or the incident call officials at 801-799-3000.
