A man has been seriously injured in a terrifying machete attack on a busy street in St Kilda, Melbourne. The 39-year-old from St Albans was walking down Barkly St about 9.15pm on Sunday when he was approached by a man and a woman who demanded he hand over his car keys.
Terrifying machete attack on busy Melbourne street Footage obtained by 7NEWS shows the incident quickly turned violent, with the male offender producing a machete and swinging it at the victim. As the victim tries to run away he is followed by the man and struck by the machete. He eventually manages to flee as the two offenders are seen running off through a nearby park. The victim was left bleeding heavily from his head, using his T-shirt to stop the blood.
