Police responding to a domestic violence incident have shot dead a man in Yagoona on Sunday morning.
Officers were called to a house on William Street, Yagoona, about 8.50am on Sunday morning following reports of a “domestic violence related incident”, police said. When they arrived, an armed man threatened them, they said. Officers first used a Taser, before an officer discharged his firearm. They rendered first aid to the man at the scene before paramedics arrived.The State Crime Command homicide squad will form a critical incident team to investigate the circumstances of the man’s death, including the discharge of a firearm, police said.
