A man has been shot dead in his car in a brazen daylight ambush in Bondi Junction on Tuesday morning in what police believe is an organised crime killing.
Police said an operation had begun on Spring Street about 8.30am after reports of shots being fired. A police source unable to speak publicly confirmed the heavily tattooed man aged in his 40s had died.
It is believed the man was shot in his car on basement level one of Whitton Lane, as building management responded to the reports and police were called.Some locals slipped past the tape trying to reach their homes, coffee shops and Pilates appointments before the public order and riot squad arrived at 10am.
