Police say the man's car had flashing lights and he wore a white police hat
Police have issued a warning after a man driving a car with flashing lights stopped a motorist and impersonated a police officer.
Norfolk Police said the victim, a man in his 50s, was stopped on the Northern Distributor Road , near Norwich Airport, between 13:00 and 14:00 BST on 20 June and was questioned about his driving. The force said the man posing as an officer did not show a warrant card, or have a utility belt, radio, police badges or epaulettes."A police officer will always carry a warrant card and will produce it when asked," he said.
"If you're unsure about whether the person you're dealing with is a genuine police officer – stop – and call us on 101 to check their identity."The man was described as wearing black trousers, a black fleece, black boots and a white police hat.
