Mason Mount will return to Chelsea nine months on from leaving the club for Man United in a £60million transfer.
Erik ten Hag has said Chelsea submitted several contract offers to Mason Mount but he wanted to "make the step" to Manchester United.
Mount, 25, entered the final year of his deal and elected to leave the club he joined at the age of 12. United have won 21 games and lost 16 this season and have only triumphed in 15 of their 29 Premier League fixtures. Ten Hag has repeatedly lamented United's injury issues even though other clubs have been beset by injuries and are enjoying more progressive campaigns. "It was a very good team , it was the same line-up as against Liverpool but there you see after international break the rhythm has gone away, you see it with many teams. They played two games with different teammates with different ways of playing and different systems."
"But we want to win every game, that is the standard we have here among each other. We will keep going and keep believing in those standards. That will be the approach in every game. We will keep fighting until the end.
