The takeover race appears to have been won by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, at a time that Man United have been struggling for results on the pitch
After months of being stuck in limbo, the Manchester United takeover saga appears to be finally heading towards a conclusion.
But, should the views of a number of former United stars be anything to go by, the Reds cannot blame the takeover distractions for recent performances. Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole previously shared their belief that the current crop of players should be able to focus on their football despite the noise surrounding the takeover.
"The main concern, as far as players go, is focusing on performances and doing the job that they’re paid very well for. The ownership will have knock-on effects in other areas of the club, but the players and coaches will be concentrating on their tasks."
