Accessibility improvements for disabled passengers at Manchester Airport praised by watchdog
The aviation regulator has praised accessibility improvements made at Manchester Airport for passengers with disabilities and reduced mobility.
The report said: "Manchester has delivered significant improvements in wait times for arriving disabled and less mobile passengers, achieving very good ratings in the third and fourth quarters. "In addition, Manchester has made changes to its security lanes to improve the experience of disabled passengers through the departures journey, such as providing a separate lane for families which allows the assistance lane to be used exclusively by disabled and less mobile passengers.
Manchester Airport was said to have 'struggled to meet performance targets' in the first two quarters of the financial year, but improved to a 'very good' rating by the end of the year. "It's also important to acknowledge that there is still a way to go in providing a consistently good service for disabled and less mobile passengers across the industry, particularly for those with more complex needs, and throughout the busier summer months."
