The 28-year-old has not started any of his side’s previous three matches with Rico Lewis, Nathan Ake, John Stones and Kyle Walker being preferred by Pep Guardiola. Dropping Cancelo is understandable as his form has dipped this season, but Guardiola seems to be willing to cut ties with the player completely instead of giving him another chance.
Reports of Cancelo’s unhappiness at Manchester City were initially reported by Spanish journalist Jose Alvarez.
