The Manchester Pride Parade is almost here and it's expected to be full of celebration and activism
It's one of the highlights of Manchester Pride and this Saturday, crowds will line the streets as the huge Pride Parade makes its return in what is set to be a showstopping spectacle of colour, celebration and activism.
Fast forward to present day and this year’s flamboyant parade will feature tens of thousands of LGBTQ+ people and allies both marching and riding floats throughout the streets of Manchester as thousands cheer them on with flags and some equally brilliant outfits. Depending on your position within the Parade you may be waiting up to 90 minutes after this before leaving the assembly area.
Manchester Pride parade route and where to watch it This year's parade will follow the same route as the last few years, setting off along Deansgate from the junction with Liverpool Road. We suggest good places to stake out your spot are the base of Beetham Tower, the corner of Deansgate and Peter Street, outside the Central Library, and pretty much anywhere along the Portland Street stretch.
