Manchester's two restaurants are the only North West entries
Hawksmoor won out in the study from bookmaker Betway, with Elnecot in Ancoats fifth. The research used its own index score — generated by the number of hashtags each location has racked up on Instagram, as well Google and Tripadvisor reviews, with the lower the overall index score the higher the ranking.
And top of the tree was the Deansgate eatery, which offers succulent slow-roasted meat served with beef dripping potatoes and vegetables, with an overall index score of five. Elnecot, in Ancoats, had an overall score of 18 to sneak into the top five. Manchester’s two restaurants are the only two from the north of England to make the cut.
