A magnificent solar display 'danced across the skies' on Friday night ticking off a bucket list wish for many Mancunians. The Northern Lights were an incredible sight - thanks to a severe geometric storm.

Chris Snell, a meteorologist at the Met Office, said there were sightings “from top to tail across the country”.
