Many of the dogs and cats rescued from a home will soon be put up for adoption, Ocean County officials said.
Brick police humane law enforcement officers responded Dec. 2 to an anonymous tip that Aimee J. Lonczak and Michele Nycz were running a “puppy mill” out of a now-condemned home on Arrowhead Park Drive.
Brick police announced Dec. 6 that ownership of the rescued animals would be turned over to the Ocean County Health Department. The animals are being housed in Ocean County’s animal shelters while being prepared for adoption. The adoption preparation process includes veterinary care, spaying or neutering the animals, microchipping, behavior evaluations, bathing and grooming care, said Brian Lippai, the county health department’s chief of administrative services.
