The Australian’s Sophie Elsworth says many people in the community are petrified and “worried about the ramifications” of speaking their mind.
“If they are a business owner, or someone with some sort of profile – they will quickly be cancelled.”
A new reported titled ‘Cancel culture and acceptance in Australia’ has revealed only 38 per cent of those surveyed said they could accept an individual regardless of their views.
