A variety of events are scheduled across greater northwest Houston.
The Woodlands Show Chorus will compete at the Region 10 Convention and Competition at 1 p.m. on March 18 at the Hilton Houston North. Admission is $25.
The group is competing for an evaluation to use in preparation for this year’s international competition in Phoenix in September. Seven quartets from The Woodlands Show Chorus will also compete against other quartets in the region starting at 3 p.m. on March 18. Stageworks Main Stage presents “The Cake,” which opens March 18 and runs through April 3. Tickets start at $21. From writer-producer Bekah Brunstetter, known for her work on television’s dramatic series “This is Us,” The Cake tells the story of a conservative southern baker who has been tasked with making a unique cake for her goddaughter’s wedding - to another woman. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on March 18, 19, 25, 26 and April 1 and 2 and at 3 p.m. on March 20, 27 and April 3. The show is directed by Lisa Garza. The play contains adult language and themes.
