Marcus Sasser is first-team AP All-America pick, Houston's first in 39 years
University of Houston guard Marcus Sasser was named a first-team Associated Press All-America selection Tuesday, the school’s first in almost 40 years.
Sasser is the second UH player in three years to be recognized by the AP; guard Quentin Grimes was a third-team selection in 2021. Sasser has averaged 17.1 points this season for the Cougars, who open the NCAA Tournament against Northern Kentucky on Thursday in Birmingham, Ala.
