George Kirby took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and J.P. Crawford went 3-for-4 with a home run, double and two RBIs as the Seattle Mariners defeated the visiting Tampa Bay Rays 8-3 on Saturday to snap a three-game losing streak.
Kirby allowed two runs on two hits in seven innings. The right-hander issued a season-high two walks and struck out seven. Paul Sewald earned his 15th save.
The Rays' Yandy Diaz grounded a double just inside the third base bag with one out in the sixth for Tampa Bay's first hit. An out later, Raley went deep to right to tie the score at 2-2. Seattle tacked on three runs in the seventh. Crawford led off with a walk against reliever Jalen Beeks, and Julio Rodriguez and Ty France each singled to load the bases. Hernandez hit a ground-rule double to right center to plate a pair, and Eugenio Suarez later added a sacrifice fly.
