JPMorgan’s co-head of cash equities Steven Maartensz has resigned, sources told Street Talk on Tuesday.
It is understood Maartensz, a managing director and one of the best known institutional equities stockbrokers in Australia, told clients he was not retiring and is expected to pop up elsewhere.
Maartensz is the go-to trader for insto blocks, alongside Barrenjoey’s George Kanaan and Goldman’s Mario Argyrides.Fund managers told this column it wouldn’t be surprising to see Maartensz pop up at new investment bank, Barrenjoey, where he is a long-time associate of a handful of founding partners.
