CommSec’s Tom Piotrowski says the stock markets will begin in “negative territory” as trading starts on Monday morning.

“The interesting thing is that there has been some pretty substantial positive momentum built up for stocks,” Mr Piotrowski told Sky News Australia.

“It’s been more of a stop-start affair for the Australian share market, but we were still up 1.8 per cent over the course of last week.”
