Defence Minister Richard Marles has affirmed AUKUS projects are “happening at a pace” following a historic meeting of the security partnership’s defence ministers.

This is the third occasion on which I have been at a Defence Ministers’ meeting of AUKUS with Lloyd, it's the first with John and it is great to have John as part of this team, and there is very much a sense of team as we meet to discuss this project going forward.”
Mr Austin said the trio had “reaffirmed the extraordinary strength of our AUKUS partnership” and showed their shared vision for an open, free, secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific, while Mr Healey said the partnership had never been more important.
