MAFSUK and US differences including legal marriages
With its heartwarming declarations of love and dramatic shock romances, it’s no surprise that viewers up and down the country are captivated by this year’s Married At First Sight UK.
But despite the show’s similarity with its Australian counterpart, a US version of MAFS exists and it's very different indeed. Let’s take a peek why… As part of this, all potential stars are sat in an auditorium where the experts talk them through what the show is about. In addition to writing a card, gifts such as jewellery, socks and sweet treats are sent as a pre-wedding present.
As a result, all weddings on the UK show are not legally binding. However, the US version does produce legal weddings and contestants sign marriage licences after the ceremony has taken place.
