The Dallas Cowboys signed receiver Martavis Bryant to their practice squad Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, ending a five-year absence from the NFL for a player who has been suspended three times.“I know I’m 31,’’ Bryant told reporters on his first, full day as a member of the team’s practice squad.

He was traded to Oakland before the ‘18 season and was eventually suspended indefinitely by the league for violating the terms of his conditional reinstatement. Bryant was signed by the Toronto Argonauts and Edmonton Elks in the Canadian Football League as he tried to revive his football career but never played for either team. He had stops in the Indoor Football League with the Massachusetts Pirates, the FCF Beasts of the Fan Controlled League and the Vegas Vipers ofIt’s easier to lay out the road map of where he’s been physically than the mental road he traveled.“Some places you can’t even imagine, man,’’ Bryant said.
