Pérez was tasked with keeping his pitches on the corners and ensuring his changeup stayed low. He finished with five strikeouts, and very four of the 15 balls hit in play had an exit velocity over 96 miles per hour.“I just love the way he carries himself, the way he executes,” Woodward said of his 31-year-old starter.
