Fans have been debating over which is better between DC and Marvel since the beginning of both publishers, but one comic settled that debate for good.

Since the dawn of both publications, Marvel and DC fans have been at odds with each other, debating the raging argument over which established comic book universe is better. However, that debate has long-been settled within a shared Marvel and DC book itself, and it’s one both sets of fans can be happy with.

While there have been a number of official and unofficial crossovers between Marvel and DC over the years, the one that is undeniably the greatest and most epic of them all is the Amalgam Universe. This series stemmed from the four-part miniseries DC Versus Marvel, with an entire catalog of original mash-up characters and storylines existing between the events of the third and fourth issue of that miniseries.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The Cosmic Gods of Marvel and DC Decided Which is Best In DC Versus Marvel #4 by Ron Marz and Dan Jurgens, the Spectre and the Living Tribunal are confronted by the two cosmic gods of Marvel and DC, and the brother-deities are not happy. This entire crossover happened because these two brother-gods became aware of each other’s existence. One of them presided over Marvel’s reality, the other over that of DC.

Marvel and DC Officially Respect Each Other Throughout this crossover, these two cosmic brother-deities seemingly acted as the meta representation of both fan bases. One thought Marvel was the best, and the other thought DC was the best, and at one point, the two of them literally have a sword fight in the cosmos over which one is better.

This entire Amalgam Universe crossover was seemingly a giant message to fans to stop arguing over which is better between Marvel and DC. There’s no reason to be divisive about something that’s supposed to be fun and meant to be enjoyed, which is assuredly what Marvel and DC were trying to say with the now-iconic line between their two cosmic gods, “You’ve done well”, which–now and forever–settles the Marvel vs DC debate.
