The Marvel alternate universe story Dark Ages is not pulling any punches, with a classic Marvel hero meeting his end in the goriest manner possible.
The Dark Ages have brought death and destruction to the Marvel Universe, and the series just killed off another hero as Nick Fury meets his gory end. In Dark Ages #4, the surviving group of heroes is met by the Ghost Raiders, who use a hook to implae Nick Fury, and drag him onto their ship. It's a dark end for the former leader of SHIELD.
Marvel was thrown into the Dark Ages after the Unmaker awakened and could only be defeated after a massive EMP turned off the power across the world. As a result, the Marvel Comics universe was thrown into chaos, as war broke out as heroes and villains struggled to adapt without electricity. However, eventually, things calmed down, and people learned how to live in the newly depowered world.
As Nick Fury is impaled and brought onto the ship, the heroes attack. They get an assist from Ant-Man, who rides Fin Fang Foom and serves as guardians of the port. They manage to sink the Ghost Raiders, but it's too late as the issue ends with Nightcrawler holding Fury's lifeless body. So far, the survivors of Marvel's Dark Ages have lost many close friends and allies. But, Nick Fury's death might be the goriest of them all. Being impaled by the Ghost Radiers' hook and having his bloody body dragged onto their ship was a horrific end for Fury. However, like the fallen heroes before Nick Fury, the survivors plan on avenging their latest loss in a big way. Dark Ages #4 by Marvel Comics is in comic book stores now. .
