“I’m just enjoying being able to play with the older girls and learn from them, and then hopefully when I get chances like this I’m able to fill the shoes of whoever was there before me.”Fowler scored her first World Cup goal via a clever left-footed finish in Thursday’s 4-0 win over Canada“Getting the first goal is always the hardest one because there’s so much willingness to get that, that I guess, sometimes maybe you try too hard,” she said.

“Every game you have to treat it like it’s a final, especially with these ones coming up that are knockout games. “We go into that game knowing that Denmark is a really good team and we’ve got to be at the top of our game to beat them.“We’ve shown what we can do and it’s just about being able to keep on doing that and staying together and just fighting for one another like we have done before.”
