Masks, density limits and QR codes: What are the new restrictions for NSW? | natassiazc

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has introduced several new restrictions for the holiday season, after the national cabinet met on Wednesday and daily coronavirus infections in the state surged past 5000 on Thursday.

Hospitality venues including pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes must adhere to the one person per two square metre rule indoors from December 27 until January 27. There are no density limits outdoors.People have also been asked to work from home where possible, particularly over the holiday period. The high number of COVID exposures as well as interstate testing requirements have led to long queues and delays in returning results this week, as about 150,000 people turn up for PCR tests each day.

“If you do not feel unwell you don’t need to be tested. At the moment what we’re seeing is that many people across the state who are asymptomatic and do not feel unwell are lining up for a PCR test.
