"I think that, for me, as I was writing the film, I always wanted to provide a few different avenues for different viewers to come to different conclusions. "In terms of identity creation and the way she would like people to see her and the way she moves through the world, she is incredibly important, but it creates a little bit of an antagonism with Jasmine.
"You're essentially at their mercy and it's something I've definitely experienced and it was an aspect of Liv's character that I wanted to put in the film."Unfortunately, Jasmine's story has the darkest ending as she dies by suicide. Whether it's an all-too real tragic consequence of the pressure of being at college or a result of her room's supernatural curse, it's up to you to decide."Jasmine's death was important to me and that was hard.
