What do you make of the World Cup kit for our Matildas? 9wwos gomatildas football 9wwos

“I think it’s a sign of how far women’s football has come in general, but I think the Matildas have earned it. Our performances on the field, and the way the girls have handled themselves off the field, I think it’s pretty awesome.”

Though the blotches and brush-strokes on the vibrant home top may look random, Nike’s Oregon-based team, led by female designer Cassie Looker, used iconic Australian images as inspiration, including Melbourne's Hosier Lane, native wattle and shots of the Australian landscape.

“It’s one of those ones that has that streetwear vibe so people will want to wear it not just to the football game,” Kennedy said.“It is a dream come true to have our own jersey that represents us alone as the Matildas. It’s just so sick.”With the new kit available in men's, women's and children's sizing, all Australian fans will be encouraged to get behind the Matildas and women's football in France.

"Going into this World Cup there’s a real genuine belief that we can do it and the really important thing too is that the rest of Australia believes that too," Kennedy said."It’s so hard to describe what it would mean. It would be amazing, for our families, and fans as well.
