A 20-year-old has delivered the matchwinning moment for the Matildas in a warning to the rest of the world after defeating football powerhouse France 1-0.
The Matildas have been given a satisfying"send-off" ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, overcoming the fifth highest ranked team in the world France.
The 20-year-old is the youngest member of the Matildas’ World Cup squad of 23 players and is poised to make an impact on the biggest stage when the tournament kicks off next week. Aussie midfielder Tameka Yallop hyper-extended her knee in a tackle after being on the field for just 11 minutes and was subbed off herself nine minutes later.
