NSW Energy and Environment Minister Matt Kean has linked this year’s bushfire season to climate change.

Mr Kean told Sky News “extreme weather events are as a result of climate change and we need to be taking steps to mitigate the impacts of climate change”.

“We can do that in a responsible way that doesn’t hurt our economy but grows our economy and that is what we intend to do,” he said on Wednesday. “You cannot deny that more extreme weather events caused by climate change are having an effect on things like bushfires.” Image: News Corp Australia
