Max Verstappen has survived a tension-filled Monaco Grand Prix to win and extend his lead in the drivers' championship.
He leads Sergio Perez in the drivers' championship by 39 pointsThe Dutchman looked on course for a comfortable victory before a downpour of rain over the principality threw doubt into the race.
Rain started to appear on about lap 50 of 78, with teams undecided for several laps whether to go onto wet-weather tyres or not.Max Verstappen lead the Monaco Grand Prix from start to finish. But Verstappen was able to hold his nerve and win while his teammate and title rival Sergio Perez finished outside of the points.
Piastri benefited from the downpour on the track, briefly overtaking Norris for 10th, before the Briton retook the position.
